Michael Kennedy
Call: 1967

Michael Kennedy was called to the Bar in 1967 and has a traditional Chancery practice, with an emphasis on company law and insolvency law (both corporate and personal), financial services and business disputes.  He specialises in matters combining company law and City practice (in particular where the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers, the Listing Rules of the AIM Rules are involved).  He has advised on private equity financings (often for early-stage medical and life science companies seeking to commercialise research carried out at UK universities) and the flotation of companies and their admission to the Official List or Alternative Investment Market of the Stock Exchange.  Over the years he has gained considerable experience of legal issues and disputes arising in the oil and gas and mining industries.  He enjoys complex drafting, especially if novel points arise, and researching esoteric areas of law.
