Jane Evans-Gordon

Jane Evans-Gordon was called to the Bar in 1992 after reading law at the University of Reading where she was awarded a first class degree in 1991. Jane has a general Chancery practice covering Contentious Wills and Probate, Real Property and Company and Insolvency. She also has experience of jurisdictional issues arising out of the Brussels and Lugano Conventions and the Hague Convention.

Recent and current cases include acting for two offshore trusts and beneficiary in a matrimonial dispute worth £20 million; a Jersey company and its shareholders as third parties in a matrimonial dispute involving allegations of sham; a section 459 petition involving recovery of property of an insolvent company against a Monegasque company; several highly contentious probate claims and cohabitation property disputes. In addition Jane has some expertise in town and village green cases acting for land-owners and developers including David Wilson Homes Ltd.

Jane writes the Real Property chapter of the Sweet & Maxwell looseleaf “Cohabitation: Law and Precedents” and co-authors the Wills and Intestacy chapter.
